Brisbane's own One Equal Music presents a programme of sacred choral music to open RSCM's QueenslandinSpires: an International Festival of Sacred Music.

About One Equal Music

One Equal Music (OEM) is a fully professional Brisbane based choral ensemble. Our repertoire spans from some of the earliest documented vocal music available to mankind, through to music written for the ensemble by living composers. The principal singers in OEM herald from the leading Cathedral and Parish choirs in Queensland, Australia, and are selected for their superior musicianship and expertly trained voices.

Our name comes from the poem "Faire is the Heaven" by Edmund Spenser, which was so beautifully set by William Henry Harris - and we want to establish equality in the music that we create.

OEM was established in 2022 and is Co-Directed by Husband-and-Wife duo, Tomasz Holownia and Eleanor Adeney, who have both worked extensively as professional choral singers in Australia and the UK.

Aims

  • To support and encourage the growth of choral music in Australia

  • To perform cutting edge choral music at a professional standard

  • To create a workplace of equality for choral singers
