Auditions - closing soon!

The audition process will be held entirely online and will consist of two parts: 

Part A - A short written application

Part B - A short video submission

Part A (Written Application)

  • Personal & contact details

  • Voice part

  • Name and contact details for 1 x musical referee (teacher, conductor etc.)

 

 

Submission can be recorded together (in one take), or a separate video can be recorded for each component (in this case, please combine the videos and submit via a single link). 

  1. Introduce yourself and tell us briefly (2-3 sentences) what excites you about the Youth Choir.                                                                                                 

  2. Perform a scale

    • One octave ascending and descending

    • Can use sulfege or sing on any neutral syllable

      • Sopranos - F major scale

      • Tenors - G major scale

      • Altos & basses - D major scale

    • Feel free to give yourself a starting note                                                                    

  3. Perform the audition excerpt

    • Sing your own part of Thomas Morley's "Nolo Mortem Peccatoris"

    • Accompaniments are allowed but not expected

    • A copy of the score can be found here (courtesy CPDL)

The application form will ask for a link to your video submission. This can be a link to a video in Dropbox, Google Drive, YouTube, Vimeo or any other suitable platform.
